Coming from an orthodox family in calicut,sarada nair,her mother was surprised to see her interest in entering the film field.She would rather say her daughter should be learned how to cook,sew,dance,and should be self sufficient.
Anjali was born and brought up in dubai.She did her high school studies from calicut and graduation in commerce from providence womens college.
''I used to play skits with my friends in my college fest and all'' says Anjali.
In dubai Anjali's brothers were off in boarding school and she was grown alone.That was the first time she penned her thoughts in diary.
Anjali dd her post graduation in communication studies from pune.Later in 2000 she joined london film school for film direction and achieved distinction in editing,producing and directing.
For our question ''Being a women was it a tough journey?''.
Anjali replied ''it was all about perception and i felt quite ease,someone else may not feel it here''.
''There were some stages which made me doubted on my ability when people ask questions on being a women''Anjali added.
''I remember the first malayalam movie i watched was 'Manjil virinja pookkal'.Still i can recollect the scenes and songs in that movie as if it were yesterday.
''Its wonderful that cinema covers every medium where poetry,music,literature everything comes''.
About her experiences she was eager to say''At the time of kerala cafe all the directors were senior to me,The passion they had on the work was great and i have seen such enthusiasm only on my film school days and Ranjith sir gave me full freedom to shoot my part''
From there Anjali menon never had to turn back.Her sense of writing made her popular and achieve awards in national level.After the bigger commercial success Usthad Hotel Anjali is all set to release her new flick on this may which has a bigger crew and casting which includes fahadh,dulquer,nazriya and nivin.
The movie is produced by the most talented Anwar Rasheed and cinematographed by the excellency of Sameer Thahir.
The movie is about three young men who reaches bangalore to dream,discover and explore.
